  5. You need to complete the WEEKLY FOOD BUDGET by next class period. This is a fairly complicated project, so you will need to read all of the instructions!

LECTURE:  We start by doing a comparison of BUYING VS. RENTING A HOME.  Here are the lecture notes for this presentation, if it helps!

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1.  PERSONAL FINANCE LIFE STATUS SHEET FOR ALL STUDENTS.   This will be your starting point for the upcoming projects, all based on the form YOU completed on the first day of class.  In some cases, Mr. B. did some research to give you realistic numbers.  If you gave me a RANGE of salaries, I took the average salary for this form.
  2. THE BIG MOVE: We begin working on our Budget Project that will carry us through a decent amount of this semester.  The first thing to know about this budget is that you are moving.  Yes.  You are 23, starting your new career and have received a job offer that you have accepted, in another state.  See your particular move location by reviewing the BIG MOVE ZIPCODE SPREADSHEET.
  3. It is time to find a place to live in your new town.  Please use Zillow to find you new home.  To do this, complete the RENTING A HOUSE IN YOUR NEW TOWN form.  You will be using the 28% of monthly income figure, locate THREE DIFFERENT possible rentals that would fit your needs in your new town.  
  4. PLEASE CONSIDER: UTILITIES IN YOUR BUDGET.
  5. Complete the UTILITIES AT THE NEW RENTAL form
