BELLRINGER: We review CHECKBOOKS and how they work, in preparation for our upcoming CHECKBOOK ASSIGNMENT. We also spend a little time talking about how to ask QUESTIONS ON A QUIZ.

WORK DAY:

  1. ALL students should be finishing up The FAVORITE THING TIMELINE: Due TODAY. When you complete your timeline- Email link of the Timeline to Mr. B. for grading.
  2. THE NEXT PART OF THE TIMELINE PROJECT- The TIMELINE QUIZ PROJECT: When you have completed your timeline, please spend time working on creating your Timeline Quiz in Google Forms. Share these with Mr. B. by next TUESDAY, so that we can do your quizzes next WEDNESDAY. We will review how to formulate these questions at the start of class today.
  3. AND A THIRD MINI-PROJECT #3: The Checkbook Exercise practice problem (PART ONE) and "The Checkbook Questionnaire." When you are done with part one of this project, start putting together PART TWO of this project. This is due at the end of class next FRIDAY.
  4. THE BFP! The FAVORITE THING SLIDE PRESENTATIONS! You should begin putting together your slides by the start of next week, then work on your Speaker's Notes for your presentation.

BELLRINGER: It's the loooong part of the week, time for a TOUGH puzzler. If you can, complete the questions in the "MIDDLE OF THE WEEK TOUGH PUZZLER THINKING SHEET- The Sulemia Sandals" 10 extra credit points for each correct answer. DO NOT SPEND MORE THAN 5 MINUTES WORKING ON THIS, there is too much to work on today!

STUDENT THAT ARE ON THE ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR THIS CLASS CANNOT WORK ON THIS PUZZLER!

FOR TODAY: WORK DAY:

  1. ALL students should be working on The FAVORITE THING TIMELINE: Due next class period, graded on Friday of this week.
    • All students should be nearly done with the adding of events/stories. Make sure to include all necessary elements- Label for event, 2-3 sentence description of the event, image illustrating event and date of event.
    • When you complete your timeline- Email link of the Timeline to Mr. B. for grading.
  2. ANOTHER MINI PROJECT:: Complete the "Google Sheets Formulas Assignment." Due TODAY.
  3. AND ANOTHER MINI PROJECT- After reviewing the SUM function video ABOVE, complete "The Teacher's Lunch Problem Mini-Project". This is due at the end of class TODAY.
  4. RESEARCH PAPER REVISIONS (a 100 point assignment for any student that did not PASS the research paper) are due TODAY!

Google SHEETS does more than make graphs! It can also figure out math problems using formulas! In preparation for the upcoming Google Formula Assignment, please complete the "Simple Formulas in Google Sheets Review."

  • The Google Forms Project.
    • Complete all of the surveys for the other students in the class, including your own survey.
    • When the class has taken YOUR survey, go back and complete the GRAPHING part of this project by GRAPHING the results of the TWO BEST OPINION QUESTIONS that you asked on the survey. Instructions for this are at the bottom of the assignment sheet!
  • The FAVORITE THING TIMELINE. This project is due at the end of class the Friday after break. Start by CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT on tiki-toki.com, then review the site FAQ information for how to begin building your timeline.

ALL WORK TODAY! NO DISRUPTIONS! We will be using a TIERED SYSTEM for environmental control today- The first disruptive student will be asked to step into the hallway for FIVE minutes. If another student is disruptive, they will step into the hallway for TEN minutes, then TWENTY, then FORTY, etc. Don't be a NUMBER!

WORK DAY: THE REALLY BIG PROJECT: Complete research and a 2-3 page paper regarding "The History of Your Favorite Thing," based upon your favorite thing from the chart that you made in draw.io at the start of the quarter. Due TONIGHT, November 9th at one minute before MIDNIGHT.: .:

  • PAPER OUTLINE: Make sure that you have all pieces included.
    • Paragraph ONE: An EXCITING introduction regarding your TOPIC that explains WHAT IS IT? This should have been completed by a Bellringer last week.
    • Paragraph TWO: Creation of product/ company.
    • Paragraphs THREE-FIVE (minimum): Explain at least three major changes that have occured with your product/ company since the founding. PUT THESE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER!

This is an almost perfect 200/200 paper, complete with ALL elements, proper formatting and good flow. Note that this paper includes a total of ELEVEN sources. You only need to include 3. This is an example that you should attempt to emulate with your work!
