BACKGROUND: Students have reviewed videos and other learning materials regarding the creation of simple tables and charts in Google Sheets.

RESOURCES: HERE IS A QUICK VIDEO ON HOW TO USE GOOGLE FORMULAS AND THE SUM AND AVERAGE FUNCTIONS. IT IS LESS THAN TWO MINUTES, I RECOMMEND WATCHING IT!

DIRECTIONS: Create a new GOOGLE SHEET in your FRESHMAN_TECH FOLDER, name it FORMULAS.

CLICK the + sign in the lower left corner of Google Sheets to create a NEW SHEET for each problem below.

Please note that for PROBLEM 3, you will need to complete some answers on the TEACHER'S LUNCH PROBLEM FORM to get credit for the problem.

PROBLEM 1. Create a simple TABLE that shows the EXACT DATA below, showing the square footage of the following rooms in a house. Use the proper FORMULAS to calculate the SQUARE FOOTAGE OF EACH ROOM and the TOTAL SQUARE FOOTAGE of all rooms combined.

ROOMS LENGTH in FEET WIDTH in FEET SQUARE FOOTAGE (=length*width) Living Room 20 25 Dining Room 17 20 Kitchen 12 15 Master Bedroom 15 22 Bathroom 6 10 Total Square Feet=

 Assignment Grade Total Points Possible Quiz 1 8 10 Quiz 2 6 10 Quiz 3 10 10 Paper 155 200 Project 85 100 Test 146 150 Extra Credit 6 0 Totals Percentage Grade (=total grade/total points possible) PUT IN PERCENT FORMAT!

Recreate the table in Google Sheets that shows THIS EXACT DATA. Use FORMULAS to calculate your TOTAL POINTS EARNED and TOTAL POINTS POSSIBLE. Figure out your percentage grade for last semester, using the formula =TOTAL POINTS EARNED/TOTAL POINTS POSSIBLE.

PROBLEM 3. For this problem, you will be refering to a Google Form, called THE TEACHER'S LUNCH PROBLEM. Complete the SHEETS FORMULA TABLE, then answer the questions on the form, using the data in your table. This will be worth 10 of the 30 points for this assignment.

SUBMISSION: Your charts all be created and named as outlined above. The file should be in your FRESHMAN_TECH folder for grading.
