STEP ONE: Open your LARGE image in PHOTOSHOP. First thing is to use SELECTIVE COLOR to make one subject stand out in color while the rest of the photo will be made BLACK and WHITE. |

STEP TWO: Use the QUICK SELECTION tool to highlight your subject. You will probably need to use the + and - tools at the top of the screen to ADD or SUBTRACT pixels from your selection until it is close to perfect. |

STEP THREE: We do not actually want your subject highlighted, we want EVERYTHING else selected, so that we can turn the photo black and white. CLICK SELECT> INVERSE. Now everything but your subject is selected. |

STEP TEN: Then, click the UPPER RIGHT OPACITY STOP and turn the OPACITY to 0%. This will give a gradient that is colored on one side and transparent on the other side. |

STEP ELEVEN: Now click and drag your GRADIENT to cover your photo. Remember, the color will be where you click and the transparent will be where you drag. You may need to experiment to get this exactly the way you like it. |
