2026- FALL YEARBOOK FINAL EXAMINATION

BACKGROUND:

We have been working on creating our yearbook for most of this semester and all students should be familiar with the use of yearbookavenue.com as a tool for page creation. For this Final Examination, students will be creating an exciting and creative yearbook page given a page theme.

THE PAGES:

Each student has an already created PRACTICE PAGE on yearbookavenue.com. To find your page:

  1. Log in to yearbookavenue.com
  2. Select CREATE> PAGE DESIGNER from the home page menu.
  3. Once the blank page loads, select the DESIGNS tab on the right side of the screen.
  4. From the PULL DOWN MENU at the top of the DESIGNS panel, select PRACTICE PAGES in the CUSTOM section.
  5. Once you have found your "FINAL-LASTNAME" PAGE, click on the blue "I" icon and select EDIT (see picture right).
  6. On the pop up window, select EDIT (see picture below.)
  7. You are now ready to begin creating your page.

DESIGNING THE PAGES:  You attend ROCKY RIVER HIGH SCHOOL, home of the PIRATES. The school colors are MAROON and WHITE.

You are a member of the yearbook staff and your yearbook editor has asked you to create the "HOMECOMING PARADE/ ROYALTY/ DANCE" pages. She has provided you with nine different homecoming photographs, which are already included on your PRACTICE PAGE.

THE THEME OF YOUR BOOK:  Your yearbook already has a well-developed theme in place, seen below. PLEASE CLICK ON THIS THUMBNAIL TO SEE A LARGER VERSION!

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE THEME: Your constructed page should RESEMBLE the model page above. You can use whatever colors you wish that fit a Homecoming Theme. Make sure to include the STRIPE at the bottom of the page, including the page number, page information and the QUOTE STRIP. Use similar layouts and fonts, please.

  1. You can ONLY use the nine photographs that are already on your page. If you wish, you can DELETE any of the photos that you don't think you need, but you cannot add any other pictures. Feel free to resize or reshape or otherwise manipulate your photographs to fit your needs, although a few of the images may not grow in size, sorry.
  2. You are required to use the BOTH SIDES of the page for your design.
  3. You should include a PAGE TITLE and paragraph story on your page, similar to the FUN IN THE SUN story on the model page.
  4. You MUST include catchy headlines and sub-headlines that inform the reader about the content on your page.
  5. You can use ANY colors, effects or shapes that you wish on your page to make it interesting and exciting, but your final product should LOOK LIKE IT BELONGS IN THE SAME YEARBOOK AS THE MODEL PAGE. You DO NOT have to use the school colors on your page, but can if you wish.
  6. DO NOT follow our current yearbook templates or theme. You MUST follow the look of the model page.
  7. You MUST include CAPTIONS for each of your photographs. Captions will include the names of the people in the photograph, but should also include a sentence or two explaining the photograph, where appropriate. You do not know any of these people, so just make up names and grades. You WILL BE GRADED on the quality of your written captions, so make sure to use the following rules:
