2021- FALL YEARBOOK FINAL EXAMINATION

THE FINAL: We have been working on creating our yearbook for most of this semester and all students should be familiar with the use of yearbookavenue.com as a tool for page creation. For this Final Examination, students will be creating an exciting and creative yearbook page given only some photographs and a page theme.

THE PAGES:

Each student has an already created PRACTICE PAGE on yearbookavenue.com. To find your page, simply log in to yearbookavenue.com, open LAYOUT PRO, go to the PRACTICE_PAGES section and find the finals file with your name. Then, click the "i" icon and click EDIT. This will bring up your page for you to work on. If you need help, review the video below, it will demonstrate this operation.

CREATING THE PAGESYou are a member of the yearbook staff and your yearbook editor has asked you to create the "SUMMER ACTIVITIES" double page. She has provided you with a number of different summer photographs, which are already included on your PRACTICE PAGE. She has also shown you an already created page from the book, seen below (you can click on this thumbnail to see a larger version, if it will help):

Using ANY RESOURCES at your disposal create a vibrant and interesting yearbook page that FITS IN WITH THE THEMED PAGE ABOVE. You should be using similar fonts for titles, similar layout and color blocking, etc.

WRITING ON THE PAGE: Please use the captioning rules that we discussed earlier in the semester for all of your stories and captions. Here is a quick review, should you need it.

Keep in mind the following points as you create your page:

  1. You can ONLY use the photographs already on your page. If necessary, you can delete any of the photos that you wish, but you cannot add any other pictures. Feel free to resize or reshape your photographs to fit your needs.
  2. Your page is in the STUDENT LIFE SECTION and is supposed to cover SUMMER ACTIVITIES. Your two pages are 18 and 19.
  3. You are required to create both left side and right side pages in your page design.
  4. You will want to match the fonts used in the headlines of the page as closely as you can
  5. You MUST include a catchy headline and a sub-headlines that inform the reader about the content and stories on your page.
  6. You can use ANY colors and shapes that you wish on your page. You should try to emulate the fonts above for use on your pages.
  7. You MUST include a STORY on your page that discusses SUMMER ACTIVITIES and the events and the photographs on your page. This story must be AT LEAST a paragraph or two long! Your story must be logical and sensible for the photographs displayed. You MUST use proper grammar, complete sentences and you must SPELL EVERYTHING CORRECTLY!
  8. You MUST include CAPTIONS or MINI-STORIES for each of your photographs and each caption will be completed using the proper captioning format discussed in class this semester. Captions will include the names of the people in the photograph. You do not know any of these people, so just make up names and grades.
  9. DO NOT follow our current yearbook templates or theme! Use the model above!

FINAL COMPLETION: All students MUST complete this Final Examination or risk failing the course.
