BACKGROUND: We now have our Theme for next year and it is BE________ (Stand Out). As our Final Project/Presentation, I will be asking each student to create a sample page on yearbookavenue.com that incorporates this theme and the concepts of the page you are being asked to create. MAKE SURE YOU CREATE AND SAVE THESE PRACTICE PAGES ON THE 2014 YEARBOOK SITE SO THAT WE HAVE ACCESS TO OUR PHOTOGRAPHS! PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a "busy work" assignment. We geniunely need to test design layouts that fit our theme for next year to see if the theme is viable or not. Please do your very best to create an exciting and creative page given the rules listed! TO START: Consider the theme of the yearbook and the page(s) that you have been assigned to create. Most of you have been given a page that you worked on this year. Feel free to reuse headlines, photos, etc. Review the RULES of the theme, then create a sample DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD that follows all of those rules. THE PAGES:
CREATING THE PAGES: Open up the PAGE DESIGNER. Create a NEW PRACTICE PAGE and save it as LASTNAME_SUBJECT, for instance: BURKHARD-FOOTBALL. (Alternately, you could open up last year's page and then SAVE AS A PRACTICE PAGE and modify the old version.) PLEASE USE THE LOREM IPSUM GENERATOR TO FILL IN YOUR TEXT AND CAPTIONS! REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR SAMPLE PAGE:
QUESTIONS ABOUT LAYOUT AND DESIGN: See Dakota, Alena, Courtney, Michaela or another underclass staff member. DUE DATE: This assignment will be due during the finals period for your class. Seniors will have this due next Wednesday in class, underclassmen the week after. A WORD OF WARNING: I expect some decent planning and thought and execution to go into the creation of these pages. My goal is to be able to USE these when we start next year! If you DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES, you will FAIL this PROJECT. PRESENTATION: Each student will present their pages and discuss all required elements with the class during our finals period. GRADING: This will be graded according to the following rubric:
