The
Yearbook/Journalism Course Pre-test
|
BACKGROUND: Because of new state requirements, we will be conducting a "Pre-test" and a "Post-test" in Yearbook/Journalism, which will enable us to see what progress you have made in the art of Journalism over the course of the year. You will be asked to complete a very similar (if not identical) assignment at the end of the year. THE ASSIGNMENT: Today, you will be creating an "Article" that reports the facts and opinions regarding an event, such as you might see in a newspaper. Please use any computer programs or class resources that you wish to complete your Article. THE EVENT: Your Article MUST include all of the following information and items:
Interview Pairings: (These groups should be interviewing and photographing each other)
CREATING YOUR ARTICLE: For this Pre-test, I recommend using Microsoft Word to create and print your article. I can offer some assistance in helping to get your photograph into your document, but beyond that, you are on your own. Remember, this is a Pre-test to see what you know about the course material before we cover everything in class. DUE DATE: This assignment will be due at the end of next class period! GRADING: I will be grading this one pretty simply:
Article Use: The article that I deem
to be the BEST in the class will be used as one of the first postings
