Quarantine Assignment: LIFE WITH QUARANTINE

BACKGROUND:

We have a number of staff out with quarantining right now. Unfortunately, this may become the standard rather than the exception soon. This being the case, we would like to start documenting the "Quarantine Experience" for students at Highland High School for inclusion in our book.

THE TOPIC: This assignment will have yearbook staff that are in quarantine documenting a day for a quarantined student, so that we can report this in our book this year.

WHAT TO DOCUMENT: If at all possible, please document the day of ANOTHER STUDENT THAT IS IN QUARANTINE AT HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL. If this is not possible, you can do this assignment about yourself, but only as a last resort. Please document the following:

  1. What is your new routine, with regards to quarantining from school? When do you get up, when do you eat, etc.
  2. How are your classes proceeding with you under quarantine? Do you have homework? Research to do? Zoom meetings to attend? Assignments to complete?
  3. What do you like about quarantining? What do you NOT like about it?
  4. How is quarantining effecting the rest of your life outside of school?

THE PHOTOGRAPHS: Please collect or take at least FOUR PHOTOGRAPHS that show LIFE UNDER QUARANTINE for the Highland student. This can be photos of schoolwork, Zoom meetings, eating lunch, etc.

THE STORY: Using GOOGLE DOCS, please write a 2-3 paragraph story about the experiences under quarantine that reviews all of the information above. Please upload your photographs to your GOOGLE DOC, as well. MAKE SURE TO SAVE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR LATER USE IN THE YEARBOOK!

YEARBOOK USAGE: This story will be used as the text and story for the LIFE UNDER QUARANTINE page in this year's Yearbook.

DUE DATE: This story needs to be completed and forwarded to Mr. B. for grading by the end of the day on November 20TH.

GRADING:

  • Writing, grammar and spelling in written portion of article= 30 pts.
  • Photographic documentation of day=30 points.
