Yearbook: Design a Business Ad Project

BACKGROUND: Sometimes, company will ask us to design their Yearbook ad, especially if they are a smaller business that does not usually do a lot of advertising, etc. This week, we will practice this skill by creating a business ad for one of our current customers. When we are all done with this assignment, we will present all of the choices back to the customer and have them pick the one that they like. If YOURS is chosen by the company, you will receive 25 extra credit points.

The ASSIGNMENT: The customer has given us a card with the information that they would like on their advertisement:

Here are a few PHOTOGRAPHS of their historic building (1 taken by us, a few from their social media page) RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE TO USE THESE PHOTOS! You COULD use these, you do not have to.:

HOW TO CREATE YOUR ADVERTISEMENT: I would recommend going to CANVA and searching for a BUSINESS ADVERTISEMENT TEMPLATE. You need one that is PORTRAIT, not LANDSCAPE, as the customer has ordered a quarter page ad. Adjust your template to fit the information and photos that we have for this business. Remember, this is a SMALL BUSINESS in a SMALL TOWN in a HISTORIC BUILDING. Make sure that your ad fits this VIBE.

MAKE SURE THAT THIS IS PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY WAY! NO SPELLING OR GRAMMAR MISTAKES! DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR CANVAS THAT MAKES THE CUSTOMER LOOK LESS THAN AMAZING!

SAVE THIS to the BLUE DRIVE WEEK_6_BUSINESS_AD_DESIGN folder for grading and judgement by the customer!

GRADING (50 point assignment):

  • Professional quality advertisement with all necessary elements, NO SPELLING OR GRAMMAR ERRORS and correct information= 50 points.
  • Project not submitted, project looks unprofessional, has spelling or grammar errors= 0 points.
