2016- SPRING YEARBOOK FINAL EXAMINATION

BACKGROUND:

We have been working on creating our yearbook for the entire year and all students should be familiar with the use of yearbookavenue.com as a tool for page creation. For this Final Examination, students will be creating an exciting and creative yearbook page given only some photographs and a page theme.

CREATING THE PAGE:

Each student will need to create a "LASTNAME_FINAL" page in the PRACTICE PAGE section of our 2016 version of yearbookavenue.com. Once you have created your finals page, you are ready to begin creating your page and layout.

PAGE THEME:  You attend BAY VILLAGE HIGH SCHOOL, home of the ROCKETS. The school colors are BLUE and WHITE.

You are a member of the yearbook staff and your yearbook editor has asked you to create the "WINTER BREAK ACTIVITIES" page. She has provided you with SIX different winter photographs, which are already already uploaded to the FINAL_EXAM_PHOTOS photo folder on yearbookavenue.com, under ACTIVITIES.

Using ANY RESOURCES at your disposal (including lookbooks, if you wish), create a vibrant and interesting themed yearbook page. Keep in mind the following points as you create your page:

  1. You can ONLY use the six photographs uploaded to yearbookavenue.com in the FINAL EXAM folder. Feel free to resize or reshape your photographs to fit your needs. You do not have to use all six photos.
  2. You are required to use the LEFT SIDE PAGE for your design. You can use both pages if you wish for extra design or layout space.
  3. You MUST include a catchy title/headline and a sub-headline that inform the reader about the content on your page.
  4. You can use ANY colors, effects, shapes or fonts that you wish on your page to make it interesting and exciting. You DO NOT have to use the school colors on your page, but can if you wish.
  5. You MUST include a STORY on your page that discusses the events and the photographs on your page. This story must be AT LEAST 5 sentences long! Your story must be logical and sensible for the photographs displayed. You MUST use proper grammar, complete sentences and you must SPELL EVERYTHING CORRECTLY!
  6. You MUST include CAPTIONS for each of your photographs and each caption will be completed using the proper captioning format discussed in class this year. Captions will include the names of the people in the photograph. You do not know any of these people, so just make up names and grades.
  7. DO NOT follow our current yearbook templates or theme. I am looking for originality and creativity.
