YEARBOOK
THEME/DESIGN ASSIGNMENT
|
BACKGROUND: We have been working on creating our yearbook for most of this year and the end is finally in sight. Now, we need to start working on ideas for the book next year. While our book this year has been good, much of the material and the layouts have been taken from the Josten's program as pre-canned content. For this year, that has been fine, as many of us were just learning the ropes regarding yearbookavenue.com and page design. Next year, however, will be a different story. Next year, we will be designing the ENTIRE layout of the book and molding our design to fit the theme of the book (whatever that may be.) That being the case, I would like EVERY yearbook student to begin working on a THEME and LAYOUT for the book for the next year. You will be creating a number of pages and layouts tthat match your theme in yearbookavenue.com. We will be presenting all of these layouts in class and voting on them. The winning design/theme will be used for next year's book. ![]() CREATING THE PAGES: Each student will need to create new PRACTICE PAGES on yearbookavenue.com. To make your pages, simply log in to yearbookavenue.com and select CREATE> PAGE DESIGN from the home page menu. Once the blank page loads, pull down the menu and click SAVE AS PRACTICE PAGE and save your pages with your name: "LASTNAME_CLUB_PAGE". You are now ready to begin creating your page. THE THEME: You are responsible for coming up with a THEME for the yearbook, HOWEVER, we would like to have the theme next year be connected with a PHRASE or SAYING, such as "Through Our Eyes" or "Up Close and Personal". The theme would be carried throughout the book, holding pages and layouts together. Our theme this year was "PORTRAITS." You will demonstrate your theme on each page that you create. RESOURCES: You can use ANY RESOURCES at your disposal (including lookbooks, and other yearbooks, if you wish) create vibrant and interesting yearbook pages with a tightly integrated theme. THE NECESSARY PAGES: Here are the FOUR pages that a required for this assignment. You can do more if you wish:
EXPECTED ELEMENTS: You MUST include a catchy headline and a sub-headline that inform the reader about the content on your page.
DUE DATE: This assignment will be presented in class on April 15th, 2014. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO WORK ON THIS! GRADING: All students must complete this assignment, whether you will be here for Yearbook next year or not. The final products will be graded as follows:
