BACKGROUND: For this assignment, you will be researching the colonial areas of the early United States.

SOURCE FOR RESEARCH:  Students will need to use online materials to locate materials that support their information on their slide.

THE ASSIGNMENT:    Everyone will be assigned a colony region (see the table below.) The three colony regions are The New England Colonies, The Middle Colonies and The Southern Colonies.

You may work in groups of 2 or 3 or you can work by yourself. You and/or your group will create a Google Slides presentation of your colony region. Your slide show presentation should include (but not be limited to) the following pieces of information:

• The names of the individual colonies within your region.
• Description of geographic features of your region (land forms, waterways, temperature high/low, etc...)
• The economic opportunities (jobs/industries, etc...) of your region
• Important historical figures and why they are historically important to your region
• What was the colonial government like in your region? If different colonies had different forms of government, please describe each.
• Descriptions of at least TWO of the following topics for your area- Education; Role Of Women; Slavery; Relationships With Native Americans; Connections To The Same Region in Modern USA

HOW TO PROCEED: To begin, each person will need a computer or a Chromebook. If you are in a group, have one person open Google Slides, start a new SLIDES PRESENTATION and share it with the other members of the group. Each slide should contain some text addressing one of the points above, as well as some kind of artwork/map/illustration. Your final slides should be a description of what roles/responsibilities each group member fulfilled. We will ultimately have a presentation day where we will discuss our findings.
