THE PEQUOT WAR/STONO REBELLION PROJECT.
|
BACKGROUND: For this assignment, you will be researching one of the first and most important rebellions of slaves in the Colonies and one of the first military operations against Native American tribes in the New World. SOURCE FOR RESEARCH: Students will need to use online materials to locate materials that support their information for their project. WHICH EVENT ARE WE RESPONSIBLE FOR?: To figure out which event you are responsible for documenting, please ADD UP THE NUMBER OF ALL OF THE BIRTH MONTHS IN YOUR GROUP (example, January=1, February=2, etc.), if your birth month total is EVEN, you will be researching THE PEQUOT WAR, if it is ODD, you will be researching the STONO REBELLION. THE ASSIGNMENT: You may work in groups of 2 or 3 or you can work by yourself. You and/or your group will create a "digital presentation" of the event in question. I would like this to be as illustrative and informative as possible, include dates, locations, actions, illustrations, maps, etc. Your presentation should include (but not be limited to) the following pieces of information:
HOW TO PROCEED: To begin, you will need to form a group and do some research. What happened during this event? PLEASE DO NOT JUST COPY SOME INFORMATION FROM A WEBSITE, YOU ARE ACTING AS HISTORIANS TO RECREATE THIS EVENT FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES. Figure out how you and your group would like to proceed with this project, it is entirely up to you as to how you will do this. Here are some suggestions: A Tiki-Toki Timeline, a Prezi Presentation, a Canva Poster, etc. Bonus points will be given to the group or individual that presents the MOST CREATIVE presentation. SUBMISSION: When you are done with your presentation, SHARE IT WITH MR. B. THROUGH GOOGLE DRIVE. GRADING: This assignment will be worth a total of 50 points per person. I am expecting to see evidence of 30-45 minutes worth of work on this project for each student participating. Groups will NOT be given all the same grade, but will be graded based upon contribution to the group, as outlined above. |
