BACKGROUND:
Because of new state requirements, we will be conducting a "Pre-test"
and a "Post-test" in Technology Class, which will enable us to see
what progress you have made throughout the course of the year.
THE ASSIGNMENT:
PRE-TEST: You will be creating a number of products,
some of them will be difficult to create. Do your best with
the tools and the programs that you feel comfortable using. You
will be able to use any resources that you wish, including the following:
- Paper, pencils, magazines, pens, markers.
- Any computer program from our network.
- Any other media that you wish to deliver your message. Be
creative!
POST-TEST: You will be creating a number of products using the computer programs and tools that you have learned over the course of this school year. Please use:
- AutoCAD/Blender for the object drawing.
- Fireworks for the image manipulation.
- Flash/Video for your story animation.
THE PRODUCTS: Please create the following
products in any way that you see fit, using any materials or resources
that you wish:
- An exact drawing of an object placed out for you by Mr. Burkhard. Include ALL
visible pieces and lines. Be as precise and lifelike as you
possibly can.
- A representation of a person, with the head of
an animal, standing outside. You can use any setting
or animal that you wish. The
representation must look as realistic as possible.
- An illustrated version of the following short story:
Once upon a time, there was a boy
named Johnny. He
went for a walk in the forest. While walking in the forest,
he was approached by a bear, who asked him for a dollar. "I
don't have a dollar", said Johnny. The bear was
about to eat Johnny when he said, "But I do have a duck." The
bear took Johnny's duck, then
he let Johnny go. He lived happily ever after. THE
END.
You can illustrate this story any way that you
wish, but you MUST show the progression of the action in the
story.
PAGE SIZE: Your works must
be a created on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper or printed from an electronic document.
DUE DATE:
This assignment will be due at the end of next class period, Monday, August 19th, 2013.
PRE-TEST GRADING: I will be grading this one pretty simply:
• Final Product shows strong evidence of thought,
design and effort= 50 points.
• Final Product shows little evidence of thought, shoddy effort and a poor
visual presentation= 0 points
