Introduction to Flash Animation and Tweening: "The Circle"
Assignment: Introduction to Flash Animation- TWEENING

Overview: Students will be using their newfound Flash skills to create a short animation in which shapes and objects move and change.  THIS VERSION OF THE ASSIGNMENT IS FOR STUDENTS THAT ARE BEHIND DUE TO ABSENCES OR CSAP SCHEDULING ONLY!

The Video Tutorials: You will need to understand all of the concepts in the following tutorials to complete this project:

The Tweens: All TWEENS on this movie need to be at least 10 FRAMES in length.  Make sure to complete the TWEENS listed below

Circle Shape Move your Circle across the stage once.
Circle Shape Change the color of your Circle once.
  Shape Change the size of your Circle once.
  Shape Change your circle into a Rectangle. 
Rectangle Motion Convert Rectangle into a SYMBOL by using the 1-Frame Rule.
Rectangle Motion Move across the Stage once.
Rectangle Motion Rotate in Place FOR AT LEAST FOUR SECONDS (think about your frame rate to figure out the number of frames in this tween)
Rectangle Shape Break Apart using the 1-Frame Rule and turn into a Shape again.
Name Shape Rectangle morphs into TEXT of your NAME
Name Motion Use the 1-Frame Rule to convert NAME to symbol.
Name Motion FLIP the letters of your name so that it is reading backwards.
Name Motion FLIPPED Name ROTATES IN PLACE for 3 seconds. (think about your frame rate to figure out the number of frames in this tween)
Name Motion Use 1-Frame Rule to break Flipped Name back into a Shape.
Name Shape MORPH your name into the CIRCLE that started the whole animation. (COPY the circle from the first frame and PASTE IN PLACE the circle into the last frame of this tween)
Make sure to use CTRL-ENTER to TEST YOUR MOVIE before you turn it in!

Project Submission: Do a File>Save As and name your movie

lastname_circle_MODIFIED.fla

Projects will be submitted to the class folders on the M: Drive Dropbox.

Grading: Each student will start with 100 Points on this assignment.

For each tween that is missing or incorrect, the student will LOSE 10 points. That means that you HAVE TO GET ALL BUT ONE RIGHT TO GET AN A, 4 TWEENS WRONG OUT OF 26 means you fail!
