AutoCAD: The Impossible AutoCAD Assignment

The Assignment: For this assignment, we will be doing something a little fun for a change. Follow this link to a webpage of optical illusions, all drawn using only simple lines. Click on the "Wireframe" links and pick one that you would like to try to recreate. If AutoCAD drives you nuts, pick an easier one, if you are really good at AutoCAD, pick a harder one! If you wish, I have a number of pre-printed illusions that you can pick from to work on, some easier and some harder, come see me if you want help!

Try to pick a figure that has lines primarily on the ISOMETRIC grid and you should be fine. Your figure will not necessarily be easy to recreate in AutoCAD, but you have the skills! DO YOUR BEST to recreate them, using any AutoCAD tools you wish, such as grid, offset, etc. Most of these figures involve TRIMMING lines in ways that figures could not actually be cut in real life...

Samples from Years Gone By: Here are some Impossible AutoCAD samples from Technology classes from years gone by. Here are some others.

Saving and Submitting: When you are done with your figure, use the AutoCAD TEXT Tool to put your name and the year on your drawing. From AutoCAD, SAVE your file as

lastname_impossible.dwg

and copy the finished product to the DROPBOX for your class when you are done. These will be posted on the class website and possibly in the hallway as well, so give me good stuff!
