BEFORE YOU START:
For this project, you will be describing and reviewing a video game. First off, the game you will be playing, describing and reviewing is a game called 3D WATER PUZZLE. For this project, you will play the game for awhile to understand the mechanics and the goals of the game, you will describe to your viewer how the game and the different elements of the game work and you will be giving your opinion of the game as a whole.
GAMEPLAY: First thing you will need to do is actually PLAY THE GAME. Please head over to the game site and fire up the game. I recommend starting on the EASY setting for a couple of rounds, just to get an idea of how the game works. Once you get the hang of the game, go back to the menu system and attempt a few games in MIX or POOL mode. If you are feeling brave, you can try some HARD mode.
EDITING PLATFORM: For this project, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING CAPCUT. The callouts are much more varied in CAPCUT than in Filmora. You can find callouts in the ELEMENTS>STICKERS category by searching for "ARROW" or "CIRCLE," etc.
REQUIRED ELEMENTS:
- CALLOUTS: In this project, a main focus is the use of CALLOUTS, overlaid graphic elements that help to highlight items on the screen. These can include graphics such as CIRCLES and ARROWS, such as those in the image to the right. You will use these to highlight different gameplay elements as you complete your project.
- VOICEOVERS: You can do your voiceovers however you wish, with AI Text to Speech, with audio recordings, etc.
- GAME DESCRIPTION: You will need to demonstrate to your viewer what kind of a game this is, using some basic footage to show beginning and ending levels.
- GAME FOOTAGE/SCREENSHOTS: You will need to capture some game footage and screenshots. I recommend doing these in CAPCUT, but you could use the SNIPPING TOOL, if you wish.
- GAME ELEMENTS: You will need to demonstrate a number of different game features in your video using CALLOUTS. You should highlight game features using ARROWS OR CIRCLES in your discussions. PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THESE FEATURES ARE ONLY FOUND IN HIGHER DIFFICULTY LEVELS, BUT YOU CAN ACCESS THEM BY STARTING A GAME IN THOSE LEVELS AND CAPTURING ELEMENT FOOTAGE IN THE LEVEL. Here is the list of the elements that I expect to see shown in your video:
- Starting WATERFALL
- STRAIGHT AND BENDING WATER TILES
- ENDING FOUNTAINS AND POOLS.
- STACKING AND IMMOVABLE TILES
- DIFFERENT COLORED LIQUIDS AND THEIR FOUNTAINS
- SPLIT AND TUNNEL TILES
- ROTATE SCREEN BUTTON AND WHEN TO USE IT.
- YOUR REVIEW: Please spend a little bit of time giving a "review" of this game. Remember, this is not CALL OF DUTY, it is a simple puzzle game and you should judge it as such. Was the game fun? Challenging? A worthy way to pass a few minutes time? Explain your opinions and your reasoning.
FINISHING UP: You will need to add your INTRO that you created for your first project. You will also need closing credits (to include credits of any online material that you have used) and music (I recommend quiet background music that does not distract from your presentation, make sure to include this in your closing credits!) When you are ALL done, review your work for errors and mistakes, then EXPORT it as an MP4 video, named LASTNAME_REVIEW.MP4. Put it in the TUTORIAL_REVIEW_PROJECT folder on the YELLOW DRIVE.)
GRADING: This will be a 100 point project and I will be grading this based on the following criteria:
- Well executed verbal discussion of the required elements in your video.= 25 points
- Captured video or media content for each element= 25 points
- Efficient editing of content= 25 points
- Required video elements, title/intro, music, closing credits= 25 points.
