APPLIED TECHNOLOGY: "HHS BY AIR" PROJECT
|
The Project: “HHS BY AIR”, an introductory videography project. Premise: While we do not have access to our drones this year, we do have an archive of some old drone footage that we can use to create a nice "Environmental Video" of the HHS grounds, like you might see on a school website or advertising media. Your Editing Choices: You have a couple of options for editing on this project. The first is to use Wondershare Filmora, which is on a small number of computers in the room, marked by black zip ties on the silver handles of the CPU. This is a good, basic video editor, which offers some good options, such as AI Music and Sound Effects, etc. Many students have chosen to work in CAPCUT, as this is an online editor and that it is free, allowing students to work at home, on side hustles, etc. It has an extensive music library and is easy to use anywhere. Use the table below to help you make your decision. It is your choice! Learning Materials: You can jump in and just start working, using Capcut's onboard help systems or you can refer to a basic video tutorial, such as the following from the CapCut YouTube Channel:
If you have chosen to work on Wondershare Filmora, here is a very extensive video that will sho you EVERYTHING you need to know to get started with your edits: HOW TO USE WONDERSHARE FILMORA 13 TO EDIT VIDEOS. The Product: You will be creating at least a 60 second video, including music, title and credits that shows HHS by air from past members of the STEM-Drones classes. Your video MUST include the following:
Getting Video Clips: Mr. B. has put together a library of video clips together for your perusal. They are on the RED DRIVE in a folder called HHS_VIDEO_CLIPS. Review these and find which ones you want to use. COPY the clips that you want to use to your own VIDEO_EDITING/HHS_BY_AIR folder. Upload them to your CAPCUT or FILMORA project, as needed. Editing your video clips: Whichever editor you chose for this video editing project, the basics video tutorials are above. If you need help and have tried everything else, see Mr. B. A SAMPLE VIDEO: Mr. B has created a sample video of this project. If you would like to see it, the link is HERE. Grading: You will be graded on your ability to select good, usable clips, edit your clips together, incorporate music properly and use CAPCUT or FILMORA editing software. This will be a 100 point project assignment, graded as follows:
