FUSION 360, FINAL PROJECT- THE VEHICLE

BEFORE YOU START: Create a new folder on your network space, called FUSION_360. In this FUSION_360 folder, create another new folder called “FINAL PROJECT”. You will need to EXPORT your drawings as .F3D files and save it to your FINAL_PROJECT folder for grading!

FINAL PROJECT: This project is mostly review of previously discussed tools and techniques. That being the case, I am going to require that you DEMONSTRATE the use of AT LEAST TEN of the following commands, tools and techniques in the creation of your model:

  • SKETCH
  • EXTRUDE
  • SHELL
  • PATTERN
  • FILLET
  • MATERIALS
  • REVOLVE
  • SWEEP
  • GUIDE RAILS
  • LOFT
  • HOLE
  • THREAD
  • CHAMFER
  • MIRROR
  • TEXT/EMBOSS
  • SPHERE

YOUR VEHICLE MODEL: You will select a model to create for this project. You can do anything that you wish within the theme of VEHICLE. I have posted a gallery of possible ideas below. I highly recommend that you select something that is within your skill set! Do not pick something intricate and detailed, unless you are sure that you have the skills to complete the project!

You can use model images, or even tutorials, if you wish, to complete this project. I MUST SEE COMPONENTS IN YOUR TIMELINE THAT DEMONSTRATE AT LEAST 10 OF THE COMMANDS ABOVE. You MUST use appropriate MATERIALS to colorize your model when you are done.

SAVE YOUR MODEL WHEN COMPLETE AS VEHICLE.F3D to your FINAL_PROJECT_FOLDER.

Here is a GALLERY of IDEAS that you could use for this project. You can come up with your own models and ideas, as you wish.

EXAMPLES FROM LAST YEAR'S CLASS:.

SUBMITTING YOUR WORK: I will grade all of the problems for FUSION_360_FINAL_PROJECT FOLDER.

GRADING: This will be a 100 point final project and should take you the better part of a week or so to complete. Your final product should look finished, polished and recognizable in all ways. I will grade you on the quality of your final project (50 points) and your use of Fusion 360 tools and techniques (5 points each for 10 different tools used.)
