3DS Max: The 3D Modeling Independent Project.

The PROJECT: For this Independent Modeling Project, students will be in charge of completing a Capstone work that demonstrates their acquired skills and techniques regarding modeling and materials in 3DS Max.

REQUIREMENTS: This is a project that YOU will select based on your level of ability and your interests. This should be a project that will take between one and two weeks to complete. These projects could include anything from the following list:

1. Recreation of a real world object of your choice, see examples from the Tech Lab

 

2. A selected model from a website such as sketchfab.com or cgtrader.com, see examples

3. An object or image from the Internet. See examples.

4. An online 3DS Max Tutorial of sufficient complexity. There are THREE of these on the Q: Drive, if you are unable to locate anything else that pleases you!

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Before beginning your project, you must complete all of the projects and quizzes from Chapters 7 and 8.
  2. You must have your project idea approved by Mr. B. before beginning.
  3. You must complete a 3D model (all sides of your object, back, bottom, etc.) of your project, using the skills learned in Chapters 6, 7 and 8.
  4. You must include color or materials in your 3D Model.
  5. You must be able to complete your project within 1-2 weeks of time.

SUBMISSION AND DEADLINES: Due to our "work at your own pace" nature of this class, this project is fluid in its timelines; however, Mr. B. expects all students to be working on this by March the 1st. All projects should be completed and ready for grading by March 15th.
