The Project: “VIDEO SPECIAL EFFECTS”, an introductory videography editing project.
Premise: We have been working on video editing using FILMORA and it is time we started learning more than just basic clips on a timeline. For this project, you will be using the following video:
You will also be selecting one of the following MUSIC CLIPS as the THEME for your video:
The Product: You will be creating a 30-45 second video, including music, title and credits that matches the FEELING of the music that you have selected. Your video MUST include the following:
- MAKE SURE THAT YOU MATCH PROJECT SETTINGS WHEN YOU IMPORT THE OIL REFINERY CLIP!
- AT LEAST 15 DIFFERENT CLIPS FROM THE OIL REFINERY VIDEO CLIP ABOVE. You will need to splice and resplice your footage to make it clever and interesting.
- AT LEAST 10 DIFFERENT VIDEO SPECIAL EFFECTS FROM THE EFFECTS TAB. I recommend that you use "Post-Apocalyptic" effects, but you can do what you like, as long as your final product MATCHES YOUR MUSIC SELECTION!
- Use of proper transitions and/or clip changes to the beat of the music in your video from clip to clip.
- Proper ATTRIBUTION of any music used in your credits (see above):
- Inclusion of opening TITLE, which will include the name of your video and a "by NAME." text line.
- Inclusion of closing credits, which will include a listing of all people that helped with the creation of your film.
Saving and Submitting: Please burn your video out as an MP4 and save it to the proper YELLOW DRIVE FOLDER for grading. This is due NEXT MONDAY.
Grading: This will be a 50 point project, graded as follows:
- 12 points: Proper inclusion of at least 15 clips and transitions in your video.
- 13 points: Proper use of at least 10 different video special effects.
- 12 points: Proper editing of clips to the time and beat of the music.
- 13 points: Proper Title and closing credits that give credit to your musician.
