The Project: “YOUTUBE Intro Project.” A Filmora X Editing Project.
Premise: One of the major outlets for media production in the year 2022 is Youtube. Content creators are often responsible for putting together their own material, editing, sound and video, often with little help or coaching from others. A person with media editing skills could easily find work in this economy assisting with the production of online content for others, as more and more people turn to the internet to make ends meet.
The Models: Mr. B. follows a number of Youtubers covering a bunch of different topics, but for examples for this project, here are a selection of four tarantula content providers' videos. PLEASE NOTE, these are NOT Youtube megastars with millions of viewers, but rather people using their own editing and content creating skills to try to inform others or, in some cases, put food on their table. Use these as inspiration, if you wish.
THINGS TO NOTE: Notice how each content creator introduces themselves in their videos- How did they incorporate clips, music, the topic and themselves, into the intro. You should be aiming to do the same in your work for this project!
The Product: You will be an introduction sequence for YOUR OWN YOUTUBE CHANNEL, which (for this project, anyway) focuses on DRONES.
Here are the expected components of this project:
- At least a 15-20 second introductory video that demonstrates who you are, what your channel is and what you will be reviewing on your channel.
- A TITLE for your YOUTUBE channel. This should be school appropriate and should indicate that you are in the DRONE business. This title needs to be featured in your intro. PLEASE USE some special effects when creating or presenting your TITLE in your intro.
- You will need to include at least 5-6 clips regarding your drone work. These should include the following:
- A video that shows you using your drone.
- A closeup photo or video of the drone that you are currently using. (This could be the video that we took from 100 feet earlier in the year, etc.)
- 2-3 short clips of highlight videos of your drone work so far in this class.
- Any other media that might be appropriate to you or your subject (DRONES).
- MUSIC that fits your style and content. Make sure that you credit the music, if necessary.
- Please consider including an effect or two offered by FILMORA X. Look into using the tools from the ELEMENTS and EFFECTS and SPLIT SCREEN menus. Effects such as CHROMATIC ABBERATION, WARP ZOOM, or FISHEYE DISTORTION could be cool here.
- BE CREATIVE! The intro to your video is supposed to draw in viewers, inform them of you content and MAKE THEM WANT TO WATCH/SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR CHANNEL!
- An ending to your intro in which you tell your audience the following: "This week, I will be showing you how to use the POINT OF INTEREST QUICKSHOT on the MAVIC AIR/AIR 2." You can do this in person or using a voiceover, whichever would be most appropriate, WE HAVE SNOWBALL MICROPHONES FOR THIS! LEARN HOW TO USE THEM!
- Burn out your video as "LASTNAME_YOUTUBE_INTRO.mp4". Save this video to the proper YELLOW DRIVE FOLDER for viewing and grading.
Grading: You will be graded on your ability to incorporate different FILMORA techniques, properly include a wide variety of media and create an interesting and appealing intro video. This will be a 50 point project.
