STEM- Drones: "THE THREE VIEWS" PROJECT

The Project“The THREE VIEWS PROJECT”, an introductory videography project.

Premise: We have been working on learning to fly our MAVIC AIR 2/MINI DRONES over the last couple of weeks. The time has come to start creating some videography. You will be using your drones, phones, OSMOs, cameras, etc. to create a short video. You will use Filmora X to put these various clips together, complete with titles, credits, music, etc.

The Product: You will be creating a short 20 second video of an activity. That activity is completely up to you, it could be someone walking across a field, a car pulling into the parking lot, a drone taking off, you name it. HOWEVER, you need to be able to EXACTLY REPLICATE YOUR SCENE AT LEAST THREE TIMES, FILMED FROM 3 DIFFERENT VIEWS. Your video should include the following:

  • AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT VIDEO CLIPS OF THE EXACT SAME SCENE. To do this, you will need to recreate your scene a number of times. I recommend a drone view, a ground view and a wide view, but you can be creative in any way that you wish to complete this. THE VIEWER SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TELL THAT THESE SCENES WERE SHOT MORE THAN ONE TIME. If you mess up a scene, you will need to refilm it!
  • Your final video should be creative and interesting and should last at least 20 seconds.
  • You should include appropriate music that fits the mood of your scene.
  • Your video should use proper transitions and/or clip changes to the beat of the music in your video from clip to clip.
  • Proper ATTRIBUTION of any music used in your credits (see below):
  • Inclusion of opening credits, which will include the name of your video and a "by NAME." text line.
  • Inclusion of closing credits, which will include a listing of all people that helped with the creation of your film.

Saving and Submitting: Please burn your video out as an MP4 and place it into the proper YELLOW DRIVE folder for grading.

Editing your video clips: We will be using FILMORA X for this video editing project. Here is a link to one of the most popular Filmora Video Tutorials on the internet: FILMORA 9 BASICS. Use this as a reference work for putting your video together. If you need help, see Mr. B.
