The Project: “THE REVIEW Project.” A Fun Filmora 12 Editing Project.
Premise:We recently made a YOUTUBE VIDEO. Now the time has come to try something else that will use all of your editing and videography skills.
The Model: We reviewed a drone video review by Youtuber "Marc McGee Studios". We will use this as a model for our videos.
The Object that you Review: You will be reviewing something. A product, a video game, food from a restaurant, new song from your favorite artist, the toothpaste you use, a store you go to, I don't care, whatever makes you happy. Your review can be straight-forward and informative or it can be funny. It MUST be quality. Do not turn in a garbage video and expect a good grade.
The Final Product: You will be a creating a REVIEW VIDEO that has all of the following components:
- Your video should START with an introduction to the video and what you will be reviewing.
- A TITLE SPLASH at the beginning of your video which identifies the subject of your REVIEW video.
- Video that shows you using your item being reviewed. This can be a series of clips, a package opening, etc.
- Video footage that shows you demonstrating and reviewing the object. You need to show the features, the pros and cons and your "Final Rating" of the object.
- CALLOUTS, as needed. Include arrows, instructional text, etc., as needed, to show your viewer what you object is and how it works.
- BACKGROUND MUSIC that fills the quiet times in your video, which you will have, as you will be demonstrating your quickshots.
- CLEAR AND SIMPLE VERBAL AND VISUAL explanations of the PROS and CONS of the product that you are reviewing. Please complete this task while filming or in the form of a VOICEOVER RECORDING from within Filmora 12. You will need a recording headset or a Snowball to do this. I do not want to hear that you can't complete this project because you are "too shy" to record your voiceover. If necessary, you can come in before or after school to complete this!
- AN OUTRO, in which you close your video. At this point, please record the standard "If you liked this video, please subscribe and comment." You should also consider adding graphics for this, as well, there are plenty of them available!
- Your video review should be somewhere in the 1-5 minute range. Make sure you cover all points above and you should be fine!
- Burn out your video as "LASTNAME_REVIEW_VIDEO.mp4". Save this video to the proper YELLOW DRIVE FOLDER for viewing and grading.
Grading: You will be graded on your ability to incorporate different FILMORA and VIDEOGRAPHY techniques, properly include all of the required elements and create an informative and easy to follow HOW TO video. This will be a 50 point project.
