The Assignment: After
an assignment like Portraits, doing a "Light/Shadow/Reflection" assignment
will be much less stressful and
more
creative. Anything
is acceptable, as long your photographs demonstrate Light, Shadows
or Reflections.
Here is a Gallery
of "Light/Shadow/Reflection" Photographs for Inspiration.
Here are the rules to the assignment:
- You will be creating a portfolio of AT LEAST 15 different
"Light/ Shadow/ Reflection" photographs. I do not
care what these images are, as you can see from the sample gallery.
I would like to see 5 of each Theme. Feel free to do
some of the photographs in Black and White if you wish.
- Be creative! Remember, a small f-stop number
such as f2.8, will focus your shot on one particular section of your
photograph, a large f-stop number, such as f8.0
will show your entire photograph in focus. Be creative in the use of these setting
to enhance your photographs.
- Use a Tripod for sharpest focus!
- I expect
that you will probably need to take at least 50-100 photographs to
get 15 that are actually worth showing to
someone else.
- Make sure to do Post-processing on your shots, especially
if you would like to convert some of your photographs to Black and
White. Save your final photographs for your portfolio into
a folder and turn them in at the end of the UNIT.
