GRAPHIC
DESIGN: "Typography POEM"
|
Background and Premise: Graphic Design students have recently reviewed a TYPOGRAPHICAL ARTWORK based upon a POEM. For this assignment, students will do the same. Before you get started: You will be selecting a stanza from a poem to "illustrate" using typography. This can be an actual poem, a song lyric or an original piece, the choice is up to the artist. Your poem (or part of a poem) should be at least 5 lines in length and have a definite "story" or "image" that is being related to the reader. The Typography POEM: You will be responsible for creating a TYPOGRAPHY ARTWORK based upon the letters of your poem, similar (possibly) to the poem found on THE FEAR BELLRINGER. You should be creating this work on a 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch canvas in Photoshop (you can make your canvas 11 x 8 1/2, if you wish).
ASSISTANCE: For ideas on how to use TYPOGRAPHY to illustrate a literary work such as a poem, feel free to do some INTERNET INVESTIGATION! Grading: This assignment will be worth a total of 100 points:
