Graphic Design- The Business Card Problem

The Business Card Problem: You have been working as a Graphic Designer for awhile now and are building a clientele. One day, a potential customer comes in to your shop and gives you his business card, that he says needs to be fixed.

The Original Business Card:

The CHANGES: Your customer would like to completely REMAKE his card from scratch and make ALL of the following changes to his business card design:

  1. He wants you to change this business card from PORTRAIT orientation to LANDSCAPE orientation. The new card should be 3.5 INCHES WIDE by 2 INCHES TALL at 300 DPI RESOLUTION.
  2. He wants to maintain the EXACT COLORS, the EXACT FONT and the EXACT SAME BORDER on the new business card. You are pretty sure that the font is a standard windows font, you will just need to find it. (hint)
  3. He wants to make sure that the new card also has a similar looking "CHIROPRACTIC SYMBOL" (hint) on the new business card. He really like the way that the old card has it faded out, but present, in the background. Your main problem with this symbol is to figure out how to place it on the card so that it still looks good, but fits the new landscape layout.
  4. He wants you to correct the TYPO in the phone number. It should read "(970) SPACE 834".
  5. He wants you to save your final card as a .JPEG, so that he can get it out to his printer right away, he is out of his old cards and needs the new ones ASAP.

Submission: Name your file "lastname_CHIRO_business_card.jpg" and put it into your network folder.

Grading: This assignment will be worth 100 points, 50 points for including all of the required elements of the project, such as proper font, color, symbol, border, etc. 50 points for precise recreation of the look of the old business card.
