ASSIGNMENT: We have been talking about CREDIT for awhile now. Let's get down to work regarding obtaining a CREDIT CARD! THE PROJECT: Nowadays, having a credit card is almost a necessity. But which ones should you consider and which would be the best card for YOU and why? HOW TO GET INFORMATION REGARDING THE CARDS: Mr. B. is providing you with a number of cards to consider. Some of these are great cards, some are terrible. Some are meant for people attempting to start establishing credit and some are made for wealthy people with great credit. YOUR JOB, figure out which is the most appropriate for you. THE CARDS:
HOW TO RESEARCH: You have the links. Use them. Research. Make notes regarding which cards offer what perks and charge what fees and penalties. THINGS TO WATCH FOR: Often, cards will offer low rates or low fees for a limited time to get you signed up, then will change their numbers once you are signed up. WATCH FOR THIS! If you tell me you want a card like this, you will likely not receive a good grade! In addition, some of these cards offer PERKS, mileage credit, cashback, etc. You will need to figure out if these perks are worth it or not. DESCRIBE THESE ISSUES in your final decision! YOUR GOAL:You need to describe the pros and cons of each card in a Google Doc, named CREDIT_CARD_COMPAIRSON and DESCRIBE which card you would apply for IN YOUR CURRENT SITUATION and why. SUBMISSION OF PROJECT:You will need to share your Google Doc with Mr. B. for grading. GRADING: This project will be worth a total of 50 points. You will be graded on your assessments of each of the 6 cards listed above (5 points each), as well as 20 points for giving a convincing argument as to which card you would choose. |
