2. Budget Rules

  • Your PRIMARY GOAL is to purchase ALL of the items that you will need to survive a complete economic collapse for 90 days, given the scenario assigned to you above.
  • You may use ANY RESOURCES that you wish to help you come up with this data, but you will need to create your own SPREADSHEET and FINAL PRODUCT in CANVA.
  • You have $5,000 to spend across:
    • Food/Water (25%) | Security (20%) | Medical (15%) | Barter (15%) | Tools (10%) and CLIMATE TAX (see below).
  • Climate Tax: Spend at least 15% of your budget on weather/climate-specific items (e.g., snowshoes, flood bags, water purification, heaters, etc.).
  • PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ALCOHOL FOR BARTERING.
  • Prove Your Prices: Please create a SPREADSHEET in GOOGLE DRIVE that shows all of your purchases, along with a Link or screenshot of every item (e.g., "$12 for 100 water tablets – Amazon").

3. Final Deliverables: Budget Spreadsheet/ Canva Infographic

To Prove Your Prices: Please create a SPREADSHEET in GOOGLE DRIVE that shows all of your purchases, along with a Link or screenshot of every item (e.g., "$12 for 100 water tablets – Amazon").

Your spreadsheet should look similar to the following (here is a link to the spreadsheet below.) Copy it if you need to.):

Then, design a one-page visual summary in CANVA with:

  • TITLE explaining your situation, your season and your major priorities in this project. Please include your name!
  • A PIE CHART (or similar visual representation) of spending, including graphics for all purchases.
  • Please include VISUALS of the top 3 items in each category (with icons/prices).
  • A breakdown of PRICE TOTALS in table form.

Submit as: JPG by completing this GOOGLE FORM TO UPLOAD YOUR IMAGE AND SPREADSHEET.
