THURSDAY 4/2/2026	BELLRINGER: MR. BURKHARD IS OUT TODAY. Just to keep you on your toes, please complete the COST OF THINGS THINKING SHEET. This will be a 25 point assignment. OUR ASSIGNMENTS FOR TODAY- ASSIGNMENT ONE: Today, the FINAL VERSION OF YOUR LIFE BUDGET IS DUE. This is worth 100 points. Please make sure that you have included ALL things that we have reviewed so far this semester- income, rent, utilities, insurance, other monthly expenses, food, car expenses, savings, investing, paying off debt, etc. All rows need to add up properly and the totals should be equal at the bottom of the form- INCOME SHOULD EQUAL EXPENSES. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT SUBMIT THIS PROJECT, I WILL GRADE IT FROM THE FORM ITSELF! ASSIGNMENT TWO: DUE EARLY NEXT WEEK- the GURU/DEBUNKER SCAMS RESEARCH PROJECT- 100+ points. For today, you absolutely need to have done research to answer all of the necessary questions about your scam. You should also have written your script. If you wish to go out into the school to do some recording of your scripts with your phone, you may, TWO GROUPS AT A TIME. Take the orange cones! You should only be gone for 10 minutes or less.
TUESDAY 3/31/2026	BELLRINGER: We preview our upcoming project- THE GURU-DEBUNKING PROJECT, which will allow us to understand some of the more common financial scams that are seen in 2026. To understand the general format of the videos for this project, we will review two videos of experts debunking claims of influencers. Dr. Idz discusses baby formula and candy bars. Dr. Jessica discusses Lucky Charms poison claims. OUR ASSIGNMENTS FOR TODAY: EXAM: CREDIT, INSURANCE, SAVING AND INVESTING EXAM, PART ONE (before lunch) CREDIT, INSURANCE, SAVING AND INVESTING EXAM, PART TWO (after lunch) ASSIGNMENT: If you finish the exam early, please work on your SAVING MONEY PROJECT, it is due next class period.
THURSDAY 3/5/2026	BELLRINGER: We preview the "SAVING MONEY PROJECT" at the start of class. Please begin work on this today. OUR ASSIGNMENTS FOR TODAY: ASSIGNMENT ONE: The SAVINGS MONEY PROJECT- 50 points. ASSIGNMENT TWO: Next class period, we will be having our unit exam. Here is the STUDY GUIDE for the test: CREDIT, INSURANCE, SAVINGS AND INVESTING STUDY GUIDE. The test will be next TUESDAY. I should note that, in my opinion, this exam is MUCH more difficult than the first test that we took. Last semester, the class average of both classes on this exam was 58 percent and the high score in both classes was an 86! STUDY!
TUESDAY 3/3/2026	BELLRINGER: I would like to go over EMERGENCY FUNDS, SAVINGS AND INVESTMENT TODAY. OUR ASSIGNMENTS FOR TODAY: ASSIGNMENT ONE: The SAVINGS AND INVESTING PROJECT- 25 points. ASSIGNMENT TWO: Time for a MINI CASE STUDY. Please complete The DAVE RAMSEY MILLIONAIRE MINI CASE STUDY. These mini case studies will be worth 25 points each. ASSIGNMENT THREE: It is almost time for our next UNIT EXAM. Here is the STUDY GUIDE for the test: CREDIT, INSURANCE, SAVINGS AND INVESTING STUDY GUIDE. The test will be next TUESDAY. I should note that, in my opinion, this exam is MUCH more difficult than the first test that we took.
